Bellevue, Wash. - Onyx Software Corporation (Nasdaq: ONXS) appointed Alvin Kok Kah Sing as vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, to direct the company's growth in the Asia Pacific market and provide enhanced support for Onyx customers in this region.

In this newly created position based in Singapore, Kok is responsible for new market development and for enhancing Onyx's presence in the Australia/New Zealand, ASEAN/South Asia, Korea and Greater China regions. His role includes setting strategy, developing business partnerships and alliances, and directing operations to meet Onyx business and customer satisfaction objectives for the region.

Kok brings nearly 20 years of senior management experience in the IT industry to his role at Onyx. Prior to joining Onyx, he served as president and chief operating officer of AsiaCommerce, a private equity investment company in Singapore, where he was responsible for developing, securing and managing investments in high technology start-up companies in Asia Pacific. His background also includes six years with leading enterprise business solution provider JD Edwards in senior management roles, including corporate vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific. In this position, he was responsible for leading his territory to a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 80 percent.

Kok was also a founding member in the Asia Pacific region of U.S.-listed ASK Computer Systems Inc., a leading manufacturing resource planning II (MRPII) software provider. His background also includes experience in applications development and pre- and post-sales support with Oracle and Singapore Computer Systems.
