Apr 14, 2001 Region's Best CRM Solution Provider Continues Asia-Pacific Expansion Onyx Software Continues Asia-Pacific Growth and Announces GM of Greater China Region
SINGAPORE, 14th April 2001: - In what is a firm indication of continued faith and commitment in the regional CRM sector, leading customer relationship management solution provider Onyx Software today unveiled its plans for continued strong presence and expansion throughout the Asia Pacific rim.
"The CRM landscape in this part of the world is expanding rapidly, driven by heightened awareness of the e-Business capability as an Internet infrastructure imperative. With the growing emphasis on customer retention, increasing privatisation and liberalisation of industries, and the escalating acceptance of web-based CRM, we believe there remains huge potential in Asia Pacific," said Howard Hawk, Vice President of Onyx Software Asia Pacific.
"As a display of our continued commitment and expansion in the region, I'm pleased to announce industry veteran Brian Chan as General Manager of Onyx Greater China Region," said Hawk. Chan comes most recently from Ariba, where he held a similar role. He previously worked for both Peoplesoft and Oracle, and with this enterprise software expertise, Chan claims, "This is an ideal time for companies in Greater China to be investing in CRM, and we see strong interest in what Onyx has to offer to allow companies to become more customer focused, rather than their historical product focus. I see this as extremely important for companies here, and am very pleased to be with such a strong player in the region."
Indeed, analyst Frost & Sullivan claims Asia Pacific revenues from the CRM Market will likely exceed US$5 billion by 2007. According to Gartner, the Asia Pacific CRM sector will register steady annual growth of between 25 to 35 percent over the next five years. This is largely due to the fact that CRM solutions enable an organisation to manoeuvre more readily in a competitive scenario or economic transition by allowing more control over customer-facing functions.
Hawk added, "Therefore we believe the current market situation presents a continued opportunity for CRM, as companies need to become more competitive in these situations. This is similar to what we saw during the time of the 'Asian-Crisis.' Onyx is strongly committed to the Asia Pacific region, as displayed by our recent new customers, partners and awards. We're proceeding ahead to expand our footprint across key country markets like South Asia and Greater China. For example, in Malaysia last week, we announced a strategic partnership with VADS (part of the national telecommunications group, Telekom Malaysia). In Japan, we're partnering with Prime Systems, NTT and Softbank, and with IBM in Australia, to provide the highest level of service offerings to our customers in this region."
As evidence to our commitment to the region, Onyx clinched top honours as Best CRM Solution Provider of the Year 2001 at the recent Customer Contact World Industry Awards organised last month by Terrapinn at the Singapore International Conference and Exhibition Centre. Terrapinn is one of the world's leading providers of integrated media solutions for the international B-2-B vertical community.
The Best CRM Solution Provider of the Year award recognises Onyx as one of the industry's pre-eminent players. Onyx was selected based on the company's sincere commitment towards cultivating relationships between its over 750 customers and their individual audiences. The selection was also based on Onyx's overall contribution to the refinement of CRM with an emphasis on technological and product innovation.
Onyx has also been expanding their executive management team, which brings years of Asia-Pacific and International experience, including recent announcements of Les Rechan as President and COO, a former IBM executive who has spent the past five years in the Asia Pacific region and Brian Henry as new CFO.
In conclusion, Hawk said, "We continue to be very committed and bullish about the opportunities in Asia-Pacific, and are expanding our presence in the region to meet the growing needs of our global and regional customer base. We welcome Brian Chan, and expect tremendous growth for Onyx from the Greater China market."
