April 23, 2001 Onyx Software And AvantGo Form Strategic Alliance To Deliver Mobile Customer Relationship Management (mCRM) Solutions Vendors Join Forces to Market and Sell Next-Generation, XML-Based Mobile Solutions
BELLEVUE, Wash., and SAN MATEO, Calif. -
Onyx Software Corp.(NASDAQ: ONXS), and AvantGo Inc., today announced a strategic alliance to deliver mobile customer relationship management (mCRM) solutions to large, field-based sales and services teams for wireless access to critical customer information anytime, anywhere.
By combining AvantGo mobile infrastructure software and services with Onyx's XML-based platform, the two companies will offer a real-time, wireless solution for the growing mobile market, which according to Goldman Sachs' Mobile Internet study is estimated to be $13 billion by 2005. The integrated solution will enable an organization's mobile professionals to manage contact information, review and update sales opportunities in their pipeline, access urgent service requests, and view customer history via handheld devices.

As a result of the alliance with Onyx, AvantGo will expand the mCRM capabilities delivered within its existing product suite. Additionally, AvantGo plans to deploy the mobile solution internally to accelerate information exchange across the enterprise for improved efficiency and empowered decision-making for its mobile workforce.
