Clean Harbors Selects Onyx Software as Its Global CRM Standard BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx® Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ONXS) worldwide leader in successful CRM, today announced that Clean Harbors, Inc. (Nasdaq: CLHB), the leading provider of hazardous waste services throughout North America, has extended its use of Onyx Software's customer relationship management (CRM) solution. The deployment is scheduled to reach 1500 employees throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico. Clean Harbors is North America's largest provider of hazardous waste services, with more than 38,000 customers, including a majority of Fortune 500 companies, thousands of private entities and numerous government agencies. The company recently tripled in size to more than 4,400 employees as a result of its acquisition of Safety-Kleen Corp.'s Chemical Services Division (CSD). "With the acquisition of CSD, our sales and service staff grew significantly. We needed a solid, dependable CRM solution that could be easily deployed to our new user base," said Michael Twohig, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Clean Harbors, Inc. Onyx Software's solution allows us to offer exactly that, which is why we confidently run our entire outfacing business on its technology." The Onyx Software system in use by Clean Harbors offers a single digital workspace for employees to access critical client data, along with relevant information from other business applications. Built entirely on Internet technologies including XML, the solution is completely Web Services-based, integrates fully with other enterprise applications, and is designed with usability and cost-effectiveness in mind. The latest version includes support for Oracle database applications on various platforms. Clean Harbors is integrating the Onyx Employee Portal (OEP) with internal systems at the company, including a finance solution and the Waste Information Network - an operational system created by Clean Harbors to handle all environmental safety, billing, regulatory, operations, field service and plant requirements. OEP is the single customer-facing solution used by all of Clean Harbors' sales and customer service employees. Onyx is used for day-to-day business activities such as monitoring sales activities in the pipeline, tracking all customer interactions across multiple channels, generating sales reports, managing marketing campaigns, viewing contract pricing and invoicing, placing orders and administering sales budgets. Clean Harbors is planning to implement follow on phases in the next year, which will include the additions of the Onyx Customer Portal (OCP) and Onyx Partner Portal (OPP). OCP will provide Clean Harbors with a personalizable, Web-based product that will enhance its ability to directly market to, sell to and service customers and prospects quickly and easily across all channels, strengthening relationships and boosting profitability. OPP offers a powerful, Web-based Partner Relationship Management (PRM) solution that will empower Clean Harbors to effectively collaborate with partners, rapidly capture opportunities, streamline sales efficiency, and ultimately increase loyalty and mutual profitability.
