Onyx Software Awarded Two Microsoft Industry Solution Awards

Unmatched Double Victory is Strong Testament to Leadership on Microsoft Platform and Strong Customer Focus

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx Software Corp (Nasdaq: ONXS), a global provider of customer-centric e-business solutions, today announced it was the only Microsoft partner to win two awards in the annual Industry Solution Awards (ISA) competition for customer relationship management, sponsored by Microsoft. Onyx won the two highly coveted awards for 'Best CRM Portal Solution' and 'Best Customer Service Solution,' which were presented Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at Comdex and were given for Onyx solutions implemented by ByeByeNow.com and Columbine JDS.

The two winning awards highlight the success of Onyx customers ByeByeNow.com and Columbine JDS, two real-world examples of the direct return on investment more than 500 live Onyx customers are achieving through the use of Onyx software. The Microsoft ISA competition, based on rigorous business and technical criteria, is the premier forum for software vendors to showcase excellence on the Microsoft platform. Real-life customer solutions are judged by industry experts and analysts, and require detailed analysis of customer solutions across a range of critical business metrics, including customer satisfaction and ROI, scalability, ease of deployment, integration with other applications and technical architecture.

ByeByeNow.com (www.byebyenow.com), a "click to bricks" provider of vacation travel, was recognized as 'Best Customer Relationship Portal Solution.' Using Onyx Employee Portal, ByeByeNow.com has been able to sell to and service prospects and customers across multiple channels, as well as provide a method for franchise partners and call center employees to share inquires and leads. Projected ROI metrics include a 20 percent increase in revenue, accounting for $19 million, 10 percent improvement in operating efficiency and a five percent improvement in infrastructure costs, a savings of $15.9 million. Onyx was up and running in 67 days (initial scope to implementation).

Columbine JDS (www.cjds.com), a provider of systems, software and consulting services to automate purchasing of electronic and digital media, was recognized as 'Best Customer Service Solution.' After deploying Onyx 2000, Columbine JDS, which previously had no central customer service or support operation, was able to combine multiple islands of data, allowing the company to build a world-class customer service organization. Projected ROI metrics include more than 100 percent revenue growth over four years, 20 percent bottom-line cost savings in improved operations, 17 percent improvement in efficiency and more than 50 percent increase in use of Web support year after year. The system was up and running in six months.
