May 10, 01 Onyx Software Appoints Nobuo Hashimoto as President of Onyx Japan Recognized Industry Authority to Help Onyx Capitalize on Japan's Growing Demand for CRM
Bellevue, Wash. - Onyx Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ONXS) has announced the appointment of Nobuo Hashimoto as president of Onyx Japan. This move is designed to demonstrate the company's commitment to the Japanese market and further strengthen its ability to a capture greater share of Japan's rapidly growing CRM market.
Hashimoto will leverage 25 years of experience in leading IT companies in Japan to help Onyx extend its 100-percent Web-based technology and go-to-market strategies to the Japanese market. His executive-level experience includes building the Multimedia Business Division at IBM Japan and helping lead the development of multimedia projects. He was also responsible for the start up of the new operation of MS Network Business at Microsoft Japan. As president and chairman at Teijin Cognos for the past five years, he grew revenue more than fourfold and established over 60 partnerships with leading companies such as Fujitsu, NEC, IBM, SAP and Big Five consulting firms. Hashimoto also serves as the vice president of Japan's CRM Association.
"As one of the most visible leaders of Japan's rapidly growing market for CRM, Hashimoto brings to Onyx deep industry knowledge and strong B2B software experience, solid relationships with major distributors and clients, and years of large-scale business transformation expertise," said Brent Frei, chief executive officer of Onyx. "His track record for successfully building the Japanese presence for U.S.-based businesses is impressive, and we're confident his expertise and vision will help us solidify our position as one of the leading CRM players in Japan."
Hashimoto's key focus will include expanding key customer relationships and establishing key partnerships by pulling from his strong network of relationships with systems integrators, hardware manufacturers, ASP and hosted solution providers, and solution resellers.
"Onyx has established a reputation in the industry as being a true partner that focuses on delivering the strategies and technology necessary to build enduring business value," Hashimoto said. "I respect that a great deal, and I believe my own approach complements this philosophy perfectly. My experience has shown that successful partnerships mean everything, and I'm convinced Onyx has the methodology and leading technology necessary to capitalize on Japan's fast-growing CRM industry. I look forward to leading this initiative and delivering rapid business value to our customers.
"I firmly believe that Onyx is taking the right approach to the Japanese market. The company's strong commitment to Japan is illustrated by the fact that Onyx Japan will operate as its own entity with a full-service staff (including sales, marketing, consulting, training, development, etc.), while leveraging resources and contacts from the global operations. Development work for all the Japanese products will be done directly by the Japanese R&D team."
This appointment complements recent announcements from Onyx Japan including the joint venture with Softbank and Prime, the product release of Onyx Employee Portal 2.5 Japanese and the recent distribution agreement with NTT Comware.
