Bellevue, Wash. - July 24, 2001 - Onyx Software Corp. (NASDAQ: ONXS) announced that the earnings release and conference call previously scheduled for July 24th, 2001 is being postponed.

Late in the earnings release process, the company discovered an unauthorized side-letter to a customer by an ex-employee. The unauthorized side letter, which related to an approximately $500,000 licensing transaction completed in the Fourth Quarter of 2000, potentially affects the revenue recognized in that transaction. The company is investigating to determine whether the event is isolated, and expects to be in a position to release earnings in a week or two.
