Airborne Express Goes Live With Onyx Software On Time and on Budget BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx® Software Corp. (Nasdaq: ONXS), worldwide leader in successful CRM, today announced that Airborne Express (NYSE: ABF) has gone live with the first phase of its Onyx Software CRM implementation. Phase I was completed on time and on budget, rolling out to more than 700 employees in sales, marketing and other departments within the company. "In our market, speed and effectiveness are key to everything we do, and Onyx has continually demonstrated its ability to deliver technology that supports these core values," said Dave Billings, senior vice president and CIO at Airborne Express. "We got the CRM we needed, at a price we could afford, and in the time frame we wanted." When it first began researching CRM vendors, Airborne included a representative sample of its sales team in its original vendor evaluation; Onyx consistently scored 30 percent higher than its competition - a key driver in the decision to select Onyx over other major CRM vendors. Phase 1 of the implementation rolled out Onyx Employee Portal (OEP) to more than 700 employees in sales and marketing, as well as other departments. Airborne now uses OEP to integrate information from many other complex information systems and support a single sales and marketing process across seven separate sales divisions. One of three integrated CRM Portal solutions, the Onyx Employee Portal offers a single digital workspace for employees to access critical customer data, along with relevant information from other business applications. Like the rest of the Onyx CRM platform, OEP was designed with usability and workflow in mind, is built upon XML standards, and fully integrates with other front- and back-office systems. Airborne Express has planned additional phased implementations to expand its use of Onyx across more departments to achieve additional business benefits. Currently, the company is actively involved in Phase II implementation. "In the few months since we've gone live, we've already started looking at more ways to use Onyx," Billings said. "The phased implementation approach is ideal for us from a cost standpoint, and because it enables us to use what we've learned to make each successive implementation that much easier."
