BDO Seidman, LLP, Announces Strategic Alliance with Onyx Software To Deliver Customer Relationship Management Solutions

Using Rapid Implementation Methodology and Certified Professionals Helps Businesses Lower Their Cost of Sales and Effectively Manage Customer Relationships

CHICAGO - August 9, 1999 - BDO Seidman, LLP and Onyx Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ONXS) today announced a strategic alliance whereby BDO will deliver implementation services for the full-suite of Onyx Software customer relationship management (CRM) solutions.

BDO Seidman provides consulting services to growing businesses and high-growth divisions of Fortune 1000 companies. Onyx is a leading provider of Web-based CRM solutions worldwide.

BDO will implement Onyx Front Office, including Onyx Enterprise Portal™, a 100 percent Web-based product that consolidates customer relationship management functionality, third-party applications and relevant Internet content into a single, digital workplace personalized for each individual. Onyx solutions help increase customer loyalty by supporting customer-centric processes across the entire enterprise from sales and marketing to customer service, quality assurance, partner management and other areas.

Synergistic Approach to Serving Clients

To date, the two firms have worked with such industry leaders as FSC Securities Corporation, a registered broker/dealer providing financial products and services in the retail market. BDO teamed with the FSC Service Group, whose primary function is to serve as the first contact point for their Field Associates, from recording and tracking through resolution and follow-up, for customer service inquiries.

The team built an Onyx-based CRM dashboard whereby a Customer Service Analyst (CSA) can quickly respond to inquiries in real-time and act as a single point-of-contact for customer inquiries. The knowledge-based solution allows a CSA to:

  • Understand the background, profile and organizational structure of the Field Associate and their support team
  • View a detailed history of each interaction with a Field Associate
  • Document and manage service requests through resolution, including categorizing requests, reassigning issues to other analysts, and escalation to priority status, based on customizable business rules
  • Search indexed resolutions and reference documentation for answers to previously identified solutions, leveraging the knowledge capital across new and experienced Service Analysts
  • Provide a method for Field Associate support staff, such as administrators, to define incidents and track progress across the Web, 24 hours a day - seven days a week, effectively eliminating the need for a service phone call.
