Executives from Cadence Design Systems and FileNet Bring Broad Business Experience and Depth to Board of Directors

Raymond Bingham, Cadence Design Systems' (NYSE: CDN) president and chief executive officer, have joined the company's board of directors. Roberts and Bingham join a distinguished Onyx Software board that includes Daniel R. Santell of QStrategies, William B. Elmore of Foundation Capital Management, LLC, Jay C. Hoag of Technology Crossover Management II, LLC and Paul G. Koontz, of Foundation Capital.

Lee Roberts, 46, is president and chief executive officer of FileNET, a world leader in integrated document management (IDM) software with 1998 revenues of $310 million. Roberts joined FileNET in May 1997 as president and chief operating officer after 20 years at IBM in a variety of sales, marketing, product and general management roles.

At FileNET, Roberts has demonstrated strong leadership and drive, while delivering impressive results for customers, employees, partners and stockholders. In his first year at the company, he undertook a number of notable initiatives aimed at leveraging FileNET's extensive customer base, global marketing presence, and vast research and development resources. Among his innovations was the globalization of FileNET's sales, marketing and support operations to build on its presence in more than 60 countries and an increased focus on growing international revenues, enhancing the company's position as the world's largest IDM software vendor. Through his leadership, he has increased FileNET's marketing profile to deliver new product and brand identity, and helped distinguish FileNET as a market innovator.

H. Raymond Bingham is president and chief executive officer of Cadence Design Systems, the largest supplier of software products, methodology services, and design services used to accelerate and manage the design of semiconductors, computer systems, networking and telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, and a variety of other electronics-based products. Before becoming CEO, Bingham served as the company's executive vice president and chief financial officer from 1993 until April of 1999. Bingham was elected to the Cadence board of directors in 1998.

Prior to his experience at Cadence, Bingham was the chief financial officer and executive vice president of Red Lion Hotels and Inns.
