Boston Partners Go Live with Web-based Onyx CRM Software
Technology Helps Institutional Asset Management Stay" High Touch"

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx® Software Corp. (Nasdaq: ONXS), worldwide leader in successful customer relationship management (CRM), today announced Boston Partners Asset Management has successfully completed an upgrade to the 4th generation web version of Onyx Enterprise CRM. An Onyx customer since 1998, Boston Partners Asset Management uses the Onyx application across its enterprise to consolidate and centralize information about clients and their accounts and to automate marketing, sales and service processes. Moving to the web application gives Boston Partners access to a host of new Onyx CRM features, simplifies integration with other applications, and makes it easier to reshape the Onyx application to meet specific client needs.

Boston Partners manages approximately $USD 8.5 billion for institutional clients, including corporations, state and local pension funds, foundations and endowments and Taft-Hartley plans. Boston Partners has offices in Boston, MA, and Los Angeles and Greenbrae, CA. 60% of the partnership was acquired by Robeco, a leading European leading asset manager, in September 2002.

Boston Partners derives a number of key business benefits from its Onyx CRM application, including improved contact management, more effective activity tracking, a more consistent sales process and a streamlined RFP process.

Asset management for institutions typically involves multiple different accounts. Data for these accounts are often maintained in various back office systems. By consolidating and centralizing information about clients and their accounts, the Onyx application generates a relationship view of client vs. an account number view. Asset management also requires client interaction at multiple levels within an organization and with a number of third-party advisors. The Onyx application tracks complex plan sponsor relationships, including the role of investment consultants and other key influencers, and makes them available in a single view with a record of all recent interactions. Boston Partners uses insight gained from the Onyx application to continue to deliver on their corporate commitment to personalized service.

Boston Partners also uses the Onyx application to improve client service with more efficient and effective account setup and by automating processes for resolving client service issues, reviewing accounts quarterly and annually, creating activity reports and identifying cross-selling opportunities. Among the benefits from streamlined processes is a significant ROI from the automated distribution of standard literature packs for clients and prospects. The Onyx application has also helped Boston Partners formalize their sales process. The Onyx application has been integrated to Money Market Directories to improve the effectiveness of prospecting activities, and they use the application to track the progress of opportunities, run sales forecast reports, respond to RFPs, and add key individuals to lists for mailings, event invitations and quarterly updates.
