Nov 6, 2000 Onyx Software Extends Industry-Leading Thin Client Large Enterprises Standardize on 100 percent Web Architecture
Bellevue, Wash. - Onyx Software Corp. (Nasdaq: ONXS), a global supplier of customer-centric e-business applications, today announced the general availability of Onyx Employee Portal (OEP) 2.5, the third major release of Onyx's Web-based customer relationship management (CRM) portal. Onyx Employee Portal, the flagship product in the Onyx 2000 line of e-business portals, is a cornerstone for companies seeking to merge their online and traditional customer management processes around a comprehensive, customer-centric technology platform.
"One hundred percent of Onyx's new customers in Q3 purchased our thin-client solution," said Brent Frei, president and CEO of Onyx Software. "These purchases included four sales larger than $1 million in license revenue. New customers, and in particular larger accounts, are choosing Onyx over our traditional competitors due to our proven, unmatched Internet technology. Our third-generation thin-client portal is a linchpin to a company's ability to deploy a scalable, Internet-based customer management solution."
Large companies purchasing Onyx's thin-client architecture include State Street Global Advisors, the sixth-largest money management firm in the world and Regence Group, a $4.1 billion health care organization operating in four states across the Pacific Northwest. Other Onyx customers already adopting the OEP 2.5 thin-client release include Internet software leader Commerce One and Equity Office Properties, the largest publicly held owner and manager of office properties in the United States.
"Onyx's latest release of its thin-client architecture is a good example of the type of Web-centric innovation driving some of the most exciting new developments in business software today," said Christopher Fletcher, vice president of CRM at Aberdeen Group. "Onyx has proactively addressed market changes and completely re-architected their products for the Web. Companies appraising Web-based CRM capabilities, in particular seeking scalability, flexibility and mobility, should take a close look at the innovation Onyx brings to the table by integrating Web technology with the capabilities of CRM."
Onyx CEO Frei concurs that customers integrating Internet technologies with their traditional business processes are quickly driving the market toward integrated suites of Web-based applications. "Whether it's an Internet software leader like Commerce One or a $4.1 billion health care organization like Regence, customers are demanding an integrated solution to enhance their customer contact capabilities and heighten their competitiveness. Companies are coming to Onyx for help in using wireless technologies and the Web to harness the power of the Internet to improve their internal marketing, sales and service teams."
Onyx Employee Portal 2.5 delivers new sales and marketing features into the proven Onyx thin-client architecture. Sales users can, for example, access their secure customer lists from anywhere in the world and use their browser to perform Web-based quoting, including full support for multiple currencies as well as Onyx's complex pricing engine.
New marketing features support comprehensive campaign management that enables organizations to develop and deploy sophisticated multi-step marketing campaigns across multiple channels. Campaigns can target groups or individuals and leverage multiple media, including the Web, video-based email, direct mail and outbound phone calls. Organizations can measure, monitor and track the response rate, revenues and return on investment of their campaign directly from their thin-client portal interface.
Onyx Employee Portal is an enterprise-wide customer relationship management (CRM) portal that consolidates CRM functionality with complementary third-party applications and Internet content in a single, customizable Web interface. Its thin-client Web interface integrates centralized customer information with specialized tools to maximize the productivity of marketing, sales and service teams. Designed in concert with Onyx's Web-based e-business portals for customers and partners, Onyx Employee Portal is the flagship product of the Onyx 2000 product suite.
