Onyx Software Announces General Availability for New Version of Wireless CRM Solution

What: In August 2001, Onyx® Software Corporation (Nasdaq: ONXS) announced the availability of the first generation Onyx Employee Portal (OEP) Handheld 2.5 solution to existing customers. OEP Handheld gives mobile professionals using a variety of wireless handheld devices access to complete enterprise-wide customer relationship management (CRM) tools, helping organizations create an end-to-end enterprise solution.

The second-generation release - OEP Handheld 3.0 - is now also generally available later this week. As the subsequent release of Onyx's wireless handheld solution, OEP Handheld 3.0 will fully integrate into Onyx's Internet-Native Architecture - Onyx Enterprise Application Server - and is compatible with Onyx's thin client Onyx Employee Portal.

OEP Handheld is built on top of the M-Business Server from AvantGo, and is a result of the joint alliance between Onyx and AvantGo. By combining AvantGo mobile infrastructure software and services with Onyx's XML-based CRM platform, the two companies offer a real-time, wireless solution for the growing market for enterprise applications.
