June 26, 2002 PerkinElmer Life Sciences Selects Onyx Software To Provide Customer Relationship Management Solution BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx® Software Corp. (Nasdaq: ONXS) today announced that PerkinElmer Life Sciences has selected Onyx as its customer relationship management (CRM) solution provider. PerkinElmer is the one of the first Onyx customers to take advantage of both Onyx's strategic services capabilities and its CRM technology. Onyx Enterprise CRM is an integrated, Web-based suite of customer relationship management solutions designed to provide companies with the technology and functionality needed to manage customer and partner relationships. The suite is delivered through three role-based portals - employee, partner and customer - that bring together information from disparate sources to provide a complete view of a company's interactions with its customers, regardless of whether the interaction occurs via the Internet, in person, over the phone or through a partner. Onyx formed its strategic services organization in 2001 with its acquisition of RevenueLab, a consultancy dedicated to helping companies identify and implement the optimum go-to-market strategies for their most critical customer segments. Onyx Strategic Services is part of the Onyx Consulting Services organization, which provides end-to-end process and implementation expertise designed to help Onyx customers meet business objectives and achieve CRM success. Onyx strategic services complement Onyx Enterprise CRM software by helping the technology enable critical processes and support a customer's overall business strategy. The end result includes specific documentation that provides the foundation for subsequent planning and implementation of the CRM solution. Onyx Strategic Services consultants typically guide customers through business-planning processes during two focused workshops or "labs." The first is a DecisionLab™, in which senior executives identify a go-to-market sales strategy for each revenue stream and develop a plan that can drive success. The second is a DesignLab™, in which key line managers develop a go-to-market operating system through which the plan can be put into action. The labs are augmented by a series of training workshops that develop sales, service and management competencies.
