Onyx Software Named RealWare Awards Finalist

Onyx selected as finalist for "Best CRM Application" by Intelligent Enterprise Magazine

Bellevue, Wash. - Onyx Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ONXS), a leading supplier of enterprise-wide, customer-centric e-business applications, today announced it has been named a finalist in Intelligent Enterprise magazine's RealWare Awards, in the Best Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Application category for its implementation at Sierra Health Services, Inc.

Sierra Health Succeeds with Onyx

Sierra Health Services, Inc. is the largest managed care organization in Nevada, serving more than 1.3 million members nationwide through a comprehensive network of subsidiaries. Within nine months of implementing Onyx across the organization, the Las Vegas-based HMO received a 500 percent return on investment on a five percent revenue bonus.

Sierra's telemarketing group was able to increase sales activity by 38 percent. Membership acquisition and retention has improved with membership attrition decreasing by more than 40 percent and membership increasing by 15 percent. In their commercial business, time-consuming paper processes were eliminated resulting in a streamlined and shorter sales cycle with the company's brokers resulting in an estimated $800,000 in net new sales per rep, a projection of total net sales over a five-year period based on returns after 18 months of using Onyx. The average "lead-to-enrollment" time has decreased from between 30-45 days to just seven. Additionally, the company has saved more than $256,000 in expenses.

Formerly, Sierra operated separate systems in separate departments and information was scattered. With Onyx, the data is consolidated into a centralized repository that tracks and organizes all customer information. Now, valuable information is available to whole teams and channel partners. Mobile users synchronize data on a daily basis by connecting to the database via LAN or RAS from remote location. Calls to members to gather feedback on their satisfaction with the plan are now scheduled automatically improving customer relations and identifying areas for improvement proactively.

RealWare Awards

Awards finalists will be recognized at the RealWare Awards ceremony and reception at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on August 15. The winners will be announced at that time. Past winners include BroadVision, Charles Schwab, Computer Associates International, Hewlett Packard, IBM, SAP, Sybase and Texas Instruments.
