Onyx Software Strengthens Executive Leadership Team in Asia BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx® Software Corp. (Nasdaq: ONXS), worldwide leader in successful CRM, today announced it has appointed Andie Rees vice president of its Asia operations. In this role, Rees will spearhead efforts across Asia, an increasingly strategic market for the company. Rees will be based at Onyx's Asian headquarters in Singapore. Rees' responsibilities include growing Onyx's direct operations in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong; forming and managing strategic alliances and relationships throughout the region; and identifying emerging markets and opportunities. He will report to Brent Frei, CEO and co-founder of Onyx Software. Rees' 23-year career includes more than 11 years in the customer relationship management (CRM) and call center industries, the last four of which were spent in the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Onyx, Rees was vice president, Asia Pacific, for Aspect Communications Corp. in Singapore, where he was responsible for establishing and building Aspect's Asia Pacific operations. He played a critical role in building and maintaining Aspect's customer base in Asia from zero to more than 250 companies. Under Rees' leadership the business unit was extremely profitable, despite the economic downturn during which the organization was started. Before his Asia Pacific assignment, Rees spent seven years with Aspect's U.K. operation, where he held a number of sales and marketing positions, culminating with the role of director of sales and business development. "Asia is a significant market for CRM," Frei said. "The region's strong culture, extensive due diligence and focus on real results also make it a great market for Onyx. It was important to find an executive who recognizes this unique opportunity and has a passion for customer success, and we found that in Andie. His expertise and vision will amplify an already-strong Onyx position throughout the region." Recent studies have shown that IT investment throughout the Asia Pacific region is set to increase, particularly for CRM solutions. A report released by IDC earlier this year estimated a compound average growth rate of 30 percent over the next five years. Analyst firm Frost & Sullivan has predicted that the Asia Pacific market for CRM will reach $561.8 million in 2003. Recognizing this opportunity, Onyx recently strengthened its distribution network in the region. Last month, the company announced partnerships with Asia Bell Company Ltd. and North 22 Solutions Ltd. Asia Bell will market and resell Onyx Enterprise CRM in Thailand, and North 22 will localize, market and resell Onyx products in mainland China. In addition to rapid, cost-effective implementation and wide user adoption, Onyx Enterprise CRM includes full Unicode support, which allows companies to save and display multilingual text (e.g., Thai, Chinese, Japanese and English) in a single server and database. This important architectural advantage allows Onyx customers to save all customers' information in their native language. Onyx provides full Unicode support to all tiers of its Internet architecture.
