Aug 29, 2001 Onyx Software to Provide The Ryland Group With Homebuilder CRM Solution Leading Homebuilder to Use Onyx to Automate Processes, Streamline Operations and Enhance Customer Satisfaction with Home-Buying Experience
BELLEVUE, Wash., and MINNEAPOLIS - Onyx® Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ONXS) is providing customer relationship management (CRM) solutions to The Ryland Group Inc. (NYSE: RYL), one of the nation's largest homebuilders. The homebuilder CRM solution is designed to help Ryland create a picture-perfect buying experience for its customers. Solonis Inc., a veteran technology consulting services and solutions firm, will provide Ryland with the implementation and integration services for the Onyx CRM solution.
Employees, business partners and vendors of The Ryland Group will use Onyx software to present a consistent face to home buyers across all touch points for enhanced customer satisfaction throughout the home-buying life cycle. The Ryland Group, which operates in 21 markets across the United States, will use Onyx Enterprise 2001 to streamline operations, automate processes and improve communications between its sales offices, design centers, and divisional and corporate offices.
Through a single interface, Ryland employees will access a central repository of customer, prospect and community information and augment customer data based on local market needs and expertise. With Onyx, Ryland can capture every interaction with a prospective homebuyer or customer whether they visit the Web site, a sales office, or a design center, or call the Ryland corporate office. Ryland will use Onyx to manage marketing programs and capture information about individual prospect/buyer sales interactions and proposal history.

The Onyx system also will include a custom home configuration model, enabling sales and design-center agents to configure homes "on the fly" and keep track of the customer-selected options in a single repository. Onyx's built-in analysis and reporting tools will enable Ryland to analyze sales activity, more effectively target marketing campaigns and track profitability. The company plans to implement Onyx across all its business units to get a comprehensive view of customer interactions, including mortgage and insurance transactions, customer service history, warranty claims and customer referrals.
