Onyx Enterprise CRM Achieves Record-Setting Scalability Performance Benchmark
Third-Generation Internet CRM Suite Tested in Rigorous, Real-World Environment; Achieves 57,000 Concurrent Users and Subsecond Response Times

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Onyx® Software (Nasdaq: ONXS) today announced it has improved the record for CRM enterprise application scalability. The Onyx Employee Portal (OEP) 3.0 scaled to more than 57,000 concurrent users and sustained subsecond user response times in a formal performance benchmark.

"Besides the sheer number of users and transactions per minute, this benchmark is significant because of our real-world approach to testing. We took great care to develop a realistic representation of how businesses actually use CRM software," said Mary Reeder, senior vice president of Research and Development for Onyx. "Although not all companies require this magnitude of scalability, the fact that OEP scales to this degree demonstrates the strength of the platform, which can help our customers get the best possible performance using less hardware. This, in turn, directly lowers their total cost of ownership - regardless of the size of their implementation."

The tests were conducted in partnership with Unisys Corp. and Mercury Interactive Corp. using Mercury's LoadRunner test suite. The tests were conducted at the Unisys ES7000 Performance Center in Tredyffrin, Penn., and used a farm of 8-processor Web/application servers accessing a single 16-processor database server running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition on Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server.

In addition to the virtual use testing, the benchmark included a random sampling of actual physical clients executing the same scenarios. This dual testing environment provided a better understanding of true end-to-end performance characteristics.

The Onyx benchmark demonstrated support for 57,000 simulated concurrent users and performed an average of 15,130 transactions per minute, while sustaining average user response times of approximately 0.33 seconds.
