Study Design: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
Patients: Patients with locally advanced or metastatic radioactive iodine-refractory, differentiated thyroid cancer (papillary, follicular and Hurthle cell) who have received no prior systemic therapy
Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of sorafenib in patients with radioactive iodine non-responsive thyroid cancer who have failed to respond to surgical or radiotherapies by assessing the difference in disease progression and overall survival, as well as to evaluate other measures of efficacy and safety
