Administering Onyx Customer Portal

This hands-on course will prepare Onyx project team memebers who are responsible for participating in an Onyx Customer Portal installation with the skills required to install, administer and customize the Onyx Customer Portal. Through lecture, demonstration, and labs, students will gain a solid understanding of the Onyx Customer Portal.

For product demonstrations, the most current version of Onyx Employee Portal is used in Onyx University courses

Objective: Participants will gain hands on experience on how to install, administer and customize Onyx Customer Portal.

Target Audience: Onyx project technical staff responsible for implementing Onyx Customer Portal.

Prerequisites:

  • This training has been designed as add-on training to the Administering OEAS - SQL course and prior attendance in the course is recommended.
  • Microsoft SQL ServerTM object design and development
  • Web development experience in VB Script, JavaScript and HTML is recommended
  • Knowledge of sales, support, or service processes is recommended
Course Length: Three days, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Attire: Business casual

  • Secure OCP elements
  • Use Custom Stored Procedures to create OCP User accounts, and e-mail users.
Configure the Customer Portal
  • Configure Order History View
  • Configure Product Registration View
Middle Tier Customization
  • Use the OTM_Helper classes to change OCP Survey options
  • Create a step component to add OCP business logic to the middle tier.
