Introduction To Onyx Employee Portal Web Technologies
Through a combination of lecture, discussions and hands-on exercises this five-day course trains technical developers, database administrators and MIS personnel who will be part of an OEP implementation on the basics of Web development.
This class will provide participants with a solid understanding of the concepts behind web development and the Onyx Employee Portal architecture. Starting with the fundamentals of HTML and Microsoft InterDev participants will learn how to use VBScript and JavaScript to program client and active server pages (ASP) and finally cover data access with OLE DB.

For product demonstrations, the most current version of Onyx Employee Portal is used in Onyx University courses
Objective: Participants will learn what is needed when creating an environment to host a portal solution. They will have the ability to add and edit scripting in ASP pages and will be able to reference objects to create dynamic content.
Target Audience: Onyx System/Database Administrators and other technical members of the Onyx Employee Portal deployment team with limited Web development background.
Prerequisites: Some general programming or HTML experience is helpful but not required.
Course Length: Five days, 9:00am - 5:00pm
